Written By Unknown on Sunday 15 December 2013 | 04:06

Corvette Chevrolet is one of the mainstays of the Chevrolet cars. The latest of the type Corvette is Corvette Stingray. This car has a very low design and aerodynamics. So that the existing wind pressure on the smaller car body when driving at high speed. Stingray Corvertte setandard 2014 is the most powerful models. With engine capable of 450 horsepower (355 kW) and 450 lb-ft of torque (610 Nm). Chevy cars can drive fast, and acceleration from 0-60 in less than four seconds.

THE ALL-NEW 2014 CORVETTE STINGRAY COUPE

“Precision” isn’t just a word. For the designers of the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray, it was a mantra. Throwing off the constraints of tradition, our world-class engineers started over from scratch to build a revolutionary lightweight vehicle with the aesthetic impact and the performance prowess worthy of the Stingray emblem.
With its sculpted athletic exterior and driver-oriented cockpit, Stingray is a beautiful weapon against the ordinary. But its ingenious design is purpose-driven. A lightweight aluminum space frame replaces steel. Carbon-fiber and carbon-nano-composite structures reduce weight even further to achieve optimal handling and acceleration. Stingray boasts third-generation Magnetic Selective Ride Control™, a 7-speed transmission with Active Rev Matching and 5 distinct driver modes ready for any road.
With 460 horsepower†, 465 lb.-ft. of torque†, 1.03 g cornering† and a sophisticated LT1 engine that propels Stingray from 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds† — it’s the quickest, most powerful, most capable standard Corvette ever made.
And since the best cars deserve only the best of care, the 2014 Corvette Stingray comes standard with Chevrolet 2-Year Scheduled Maintenance coverage† that includes oil and oil filter changes, 4-wheel tire rotation and a 27-point vehicle inspection.

EXTERIOR

Designed on purpose

Provocative, purposeful and sculpted for optimal performance, the all-new Stingray coupe is low, light and lean. Increased downforce keeps the vehicle planted, while its functional exterior vents create a totally new breathing experience to reduce lift and minimize drag. The advanced ventilation systems help air flow from front to back, cooling critical components of the perfectly balanced powertrain. This efficient airflow controls temperatures and improves vehicle handling. Stunning design, meet racing strategy.

Hood extractor

This is no bottom breather. A functional hood air extractor directs air from the front grille up through the forward-tilted radiator and out of the engine compartment. Each blade is precisely angled for optimal airflow. The result is reduced front-end lift, increased downforce and improved handling at high speeds.

Brake cooling

The available Z51 Performance Package includes dual brake ducts that transport air from the front grille through the wheelwells to effectively cool front brakes and expel heat. This efficient airflow controls temperature, reduces brake fade and optimizes stopping performance.

Powertrain cooling

Dual rear quarter panel intake vents, also included with the Z51 package, guide airflow to cool two separate heat exchangers. One routes air to the transmission oil cooler. The other cools the rear differential. Air escapes through tailored rear taillamp vents and lower-rear fascia outlets. This system was adapted from Corvette Racing to reduce temperatures during high-performance driving.

Headlamps

Frosted indirect high-intensity discharge headlamps are the eyes to the technological soul of the Stingray, emanating crisp color, brightness and efficiency. The new elements bear a sharper, more sinister shape, framed by edge-lit amber LED turn signals and black chrome housing. Bi-Xenon HID technology achieves high and low beams with a single light engine.

Taillamps

Signature four-element taillamps bear a new angular shape and recede elegantly into three-dimensional sculpted lenses. Concealed indirect LED lamps cast light into a reverse reflector to achieve crisp and even luminescence. A high-mounted stoplamp crowns the rear decklid. It’s design that doesn’t look back.

INTERIOR

The journey begins in the cockpit

Illuminated by innovative digital features and intelligent driver controls, the Stingray cockpit is a stunning change from your typical interior scenery. An ingenious available color Head-Up Display complements the customizable dual display featuring two 8-inch screens. A sweeping freeform line spans the instrument panel and flawlessly carries over into the door trim and console. And every inch is imbued with a deep respect for authentic materials. Real aluminum. Available carbon fiber. Grade A leather hand-selected and crafted to adorn a new generation of elegance.

ENGINEERING

Lighter, more rigid, more precise

Lean materials and efficient new processes forge the light, stiff Stingray space frame, which helps achieve a near 50-50 weight distribution and impressive power-to-weight ratio. One-third the weight of steel, aluminum improves rigidity, which in turn enhances cornering and handling. Lightweight Carbon-Nano Composite underbody panels bond to aluminum, further reducing weight for more precise driver control. This revolutionary chassis improves torsional rigidity, reducing noise and elevating performance to an art.
A carbon fiber hood and carbon fiber removable roof panel strip away even more weight, lowering the vehicle’s center of gravity and maintaining an optimal weight distribution for precise handling. Lightweight carbon fiber also makes it possible for Stingray owners to single-handedly remove the roof panel and stow in the trunk.

Lighter frame

One-third the weight of steel, the Stingray aluminum space frame is 100 pounds (45 kilograms) lighter than its predecessor.

Aluminum segments

Segmented aluminum rails — varying in thickness from 2 mm to 11 mm — enable tailored gauge, shape and strength properties with minimal weight.

Stiffer than steel

The all-aluminum Stingray space frame assembly, used on both coupe and convertible, is also 57 % stiffer than its steel predecessor.

Bowling Green Assembly

Every 2014 Corvette Stingray is built by experienced craftsmen using state-of-the-art processes refined at our Bowling Green assembly plant.

Fastest-acting suspension

Stingray incorporates the world’s fastest-acting suspension. Magnetic Selective Ride Control™ is an available real-time damping system that “reads” the road every millisecond and can adjust in under 15 milliseconds. Available on the Z51 Performance and Handling Package, Magnetic Ride includes Performance Traction Management, which features five settings tailored to driver skill level and track conditions.

Powertrain

Completely redesigned, the 6.2L LT1 V8 engine boasts up to an estimated 460 horsepower, 465 lb.-ft. of torque, plus 0-60 times of 3.8 seconds. A distinctive rear transaxle layout achieves optimal weight balance. A trio of innovative technology rarely seen in any elite sports car achieves revolutionary power and fuel efficiency. Compact engine design lowers the hood line and vehicle center of gravity. And a dry-sump oil system, available with the Z51 Performance Package, delivers through high g-force cornering.

7-speed manual transmission

An all-new 7-speed transmission complements the LT1 V8 powerhouse that propels Stingray. The rear transaxle location enables a near 50/50 vehicle weight balance. Intelligent sensors anticipate gear selections and match engine speed for smooth transitions during both upshifts and downshifts. Active Rev Matching enhances the driving experience by simulating heel-toe shifting perfection at the touch of a switch.

DRIVING EXPERIENCE

Trust the machine

The all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray has been completely reengineered to serve the driver. Lighter materials and ingenious technology coelesce to create a precision instrument that reacts perfectly to every human input. Stingray does exactly what you tell it to. And more. Driver unites with machine and no one walks away unchanged

Confident driving

With precision engineering comes masterful driving. Electric power steering eliminates road shake, enhancing responsiveness. Standard Brembo® brakes deliver confident stopping power, while Michelin® Pilot® Super Sport Zero Pressure tires — exclusive to Stingray — optimize ride, grip and handling.

An available Z51 Performance Package lets you achieve full track capability: Electronic Limited-Slip Differential promotes improved stability and responsiveness. Available third-generation Magnetic Ride technology stiffens the suspension for performance driving without sacrificing a smooth ride. Performance Traction Management facilitates maximum grip on the road. Additionally, five separate settings of torque reduction and brake intervention allow for more confident driving.

Electronic Limited Slip Differential

Torque is optimized when properly divided between the two rear wheels. Included in the Z51 Performance Package, intelligent Electronic Limited-Slip Differential continuously modulates torque split to improve traction, acceleration out of corners, stability on the highway and steering turn-in responsiveness. Integration with StabiliTrak® and Performance Traction Management delivers seamless vehicle handling and optimal traction. Critical to performance. Indiscernible to the driver. More rear-wheel control means a new level of confidence.

Magnetic Selective Ride Control™

A smooth ride on the road. A firm ride on the track. Available with the Z51 Performance package, third-generation Magnetic Ride makes an aggressive chassis ride comfortably. Electromagnetic coils transfer electric currents to adjust shock fluid consistency. Damping adapts every 10-15 milliseconds and fluid flows more or less freely to neutralize variable road conditions. A new dual-coil damper system reacts 40% faster to enable enhanced ride comfort and body control.

Real-world testing

Stingray underwent stringent performance trials. On the track, engine temperatures were pushed to the max during repeated hot laps. On the road, camouflaged test prototypes blurred past onlookers to ensure the same performance outcomes on natural surfaces. In the lab, tilt-dyno testing simulated extreme driving conditions to test engine durability and resilience. By refining and refreshing the design thousands of times, Stingray engineers took unexpected measures to create an unexpected car.
